English for Academic Purposes - EAP

The EAP program prepares students for the culture and style of learning in Australian universities. Students are guided through the processes involved in university research, essay and report writing, and tutorials and presentations.

The program focuses on one theme each fortnight such as Education, Health, Business, Technology and the Environment. Students develop the critical thinking, academic reading, writing, study, presentation and listening skills necessary for success in tertiary study at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

CRICOS Code 047949C Duration Student doing Pre EAP, EAP1 & EAP2 will require 30 weeks. 10 weeks minimum (each level) and 20 weeks total to complete EAP 1 and EAP 2 Full Time only Entry Requirements IELTS 4.5 level or equivalent for Pre-EAP level IELTS 5.0 level or equivalent for EAP 1 level IELTS 5.5 level or equivalent for EAP 2 level Students enrolled in the Pre-EAP level are required to show English language competence at Intermediate level and enrolled in the EAP 1 level are required at Upper Intermediate level. To assess this, students take an English Language Placement Test to confirm their language level. If they do not have at least Intermediate level, they are placed into a General English class to gain the necessary English language skills to enter the EAP Program. Articulation AICL Commerce College: Business, IT, Accounting, Printing and Children Services AICL Service and Hospitality College: Hospitality ( Commercial Cookery) Direct Entry to Selected Universities Assessment Students are assessed continuously during the courses through assignments which introduce learners to the requirements of study in Australia. Students must complete all assessments to pass the courses, including a biography, study plan, and description (Preparation for EAP), essay plans, essays, oral presentation (EAP 1), and oral presentation and research report (EAP 2).       Timetable    Intake Dates   Fee
